• Job seekers: Name, email address, phone number, cover letter and CV when you apply for a job
• Employers: Company name, website, contact email, and job details when you post a job
• Contact form: Name, email, and message when you contact us

We also automatically collect usage data such as pages visited and browser type through Google Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To process and forward your job application to the relevant employer
• To review and publish job listings submitted by employers
• To respond to your enquiries
• To improve our platform and understand how it is used
• To send you notifications related to your application or listing

3. How We Share Your Information

When you apply for a job through Perican, your application details (name, email, phone, cover letter and CV) are shared with the employer who posted the job. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — secure database storage
• Resend — email delivery
• Netlify — website hosting
• Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics

4. CV Storage

CVs uploaded through Perican are stored securely in a private Supabase Storage bucket. Download links expire after 7 days. We do not share CVs with anyone other than the employer you applied to.

5. Data Retention

We retain your application data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@perican.africa.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

7. Cookies

We use Google Analytics which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors use our site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
